How we help you compare services

Our four-step process is designed to be fast, transparent and completely free. No hidden fees, no obligation — just clear information so you can make the right choice for your household or business.

Built around simplicity

We believe that comparing services should never feel like a chore. That is why we invested heavily in user research to streamline every interaction on the platform. From the moment you land on a category page to the moment you click through to a provider, every screen has been tested with real Australians to ensure clarity, speed and confidence.

Our comparison engine aggregates data from over one hundred and eighty-five partner providers, normalises it into consistent formats, and presents it in tables that are easy to scan on any device — whether you are on a desktop at work or a phone on the train. We update pricing data daily and flag any offers that have changed since your last visit.

Four steps to a better deal

Follow this straightforward process and you could be saving money within the hour.

1

Choose your category

Start by selecting the type of service you want to compare — insurance, energy, broadband, finance or business services. Each category has its own dedicated comparison tool with filters tailored to that industry. For example, the insurance tool lets you set your desired excess level and coverage tier before you see any results, while the energy tool asks for your postcode and estimated quarterly usage so the numbers are relevant to you specifically.

2

Enter your details

We ask a small number of questions — typically five to eight — to personalise the results. For a home loan comparison you might enter the property value, deposit amount and preferred loan term. For health insurance we ask about your age, family status and whether you need hospital cover, extras or both. We never ask for information that is not directly needed to generate accurate quotes, and we never share your answers with third parties without your explicit consent.

3

Review and compare results

Our engine returns a ranked list of options, sorted by estimated total cost by default. You can re-sort by provider rating, coverage level or any other column. Each result card shows the key facts at a glance — price, features, pros and cons — and you can expand it for a full breakdown. A side-by-side mode lets you pin up to three options and view them in parallel columns, making it easy to spot the differences that matter most to your situation.

4

Switch and start saving

Once you have found the right option, click the "Go to provider" button. You will be taken directly to the provider's website where you can complete the sign-up or switch. In many cases we have negotiated exclusive online discounts that are applied automatically when you arrive via our link. After switching, you can set a reminder in your dashboard to compare again before your next renewal date, ensuring you never overpay year after year.

Why our process stands out

Other comparison sites cut corners. Here is what we do differently.

No hidden sponsorship bias

If a result is sponsored or features a referral arrangement, we label it clearly. Default sort order is always by estimated cost, not by commission rate. You deserve to know exactly why a product appears where it does in the list.

Data security first

Your personal information is encrypted in transit and at rest. We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles and never sell your data. Our servers are hosted within Australia, and we conduct regular penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities.

Daily data refreshes

Prices change frequently. Our automated pipeline fetches updated rates, fees and plan details from every partner provider at least once every twenty-four hours. When a product is discontinued or modified, it is removed or updated before the next business day.

Human editorial oversight

Algorithms do the heavy lifting, but our editorial team reviews every category weekly to ensure accuracy and to write plain-English summaries of complex products. If something looks off, a real person investigates before it reaches your screen.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the most common queries about our comparison process.

Is it really free to compare?

Yes, one hundred percent. We earn revenue through referral commissions paid by providers when you click through and purchase. You never pay extra as a result of using our platform — the price you see is the same price you would get going directly to the provider.

How many providers do you compare?

We currently partner with over one hundred and eighty-five providers across all categories. The exact number varies by category — for example, we list more than forty insurance brands but around thirty broadband retailers. We are always adding new partners to give you the widest possible view of the market.

Will comparing affect my credit score?

No. Running a comparison on our site does not trigger a credit inquiry. A credit check only occurs if you proceed to formally apply for a financial product with the provider. We make this distinction clear on every finance comparison page.

Can I save my comparison and come back later?

Absolutely. Create a free account and your comparison results, pinned products and renewal reminders are saved to your dashboard. You can revisit them from any device at any time.

What if I need help choosing?

Our support team is available Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm AEST. You can reach us by phone at +61 7 0500 2181 or email at [email protected]. While we cannot provide financial advice, we can walk you through the comparison tools and help you understand the results.
