About us — the people behind compare

We started CompareEminently because we believed Australians deserved a comparison platform that was genuinely independent, refreshingly transparent and relentlessly focused on the user experience.

Our story

CompareEminently was founded in 2019 by a small group of consumer advocates and technologists who were frustrated by the state of comparison websites in Australia. Too many platforms at the time were little more than lead-generation funnels dressed up as impartial advice. Results were ranked by commission, not by value, and important details like excess amounts, waiting periods and contract lock-in clauses were buried in footnotes.

We set out to build something different. Our founding principle was simple: the default sort order should always reflect what is best for the consumer, not what is most profitable for us. That principle still guides every product decision we make today. We have grown from a two-person operation working out of a garage in Cameronhaven to a team of twenty-eight professionals spread across New South Wales and Victoria, but the mission has not changed.

Over the past six years, more than two million Australians have used our platform to compare and switch services. On average, our users report saving six hundred and twenty dollars per year — money that goes back into family budgets, small business cash flow and everyday life. Those numbers keep us motivated to push for even greater coverage, accuracy and transparency.

Our mission and values

Everything we do is anchored by five core values that shape our culture, our product and our relationships with providers and users alike.

Transparency

We label sponsored results, disclose referral relationships and publish our methodology. If we earn a commission, you know about it before you click.

Independence

No provider can pay for a higher ranking in our default results. Our editorial team operates independently from the commercial team, ensuring reviews and guides are never influenced by partnerships.

Accuracy

We refresh data daily, cross-check it against provider websites and flag discrepancies within hours. Our quality assurance pipeline catches errors before they reach your screen.

User focus

Every feature we ship is tested with real Australians. We run monthly usability sessions and act on feedback within weeks, not quarters. Our Net Promoter Score consistently sits above seventy.

Sustainability

We highlight green energy options and eco-friendly products wherever possible. Internally, we offset our carbon footprint and operate a paperless office powered by one hundred percent renewable energy.
